Vítkov Garden

The property is a completely restored, building completed in 2008 in Konevova Street, Prague 3. It is located 15 minutes by foot from the very center of the city in an area situated within the greenery of Vitkov and yet across from a newly constructed polyfunctional building with a supermarket and a parking garage. The gallery style house was built in 1907, making it evident that its restoration touched the entire building. The frontal exterior was repaired, the courtyard exterior then newly insulated, all windows were replaced with tri-part insulation windows in an exact copy of the originals. The entry door also fulfills the highest requirement for insulation. The green courtyard is truly eye candy.

The apartments are furnished in a higher standard according to the overall architectural design. Bathrooms in an Italian and Spanish large format tile, furnishings, bathroom fittings and other details from PHILIPPE STARK and DRONBRACHT, sinks from DURAVIT, RAVAK and LAUFEN, showers from HOESCH.

The interior design of the attic spaces belong to the most complicated. The Architect is requested to supress the evident constraint that is natural for these attic spaces. In this case, we wanted to allow to echo a new and for attic spaces not customary structural geology. We worked with basic materials and intrestingly incorporated chimney components that are positioned against one another.

This precisely defined dynamic shape in the interior is contrasted with transparent and clean surfaces and shapes, that filter or reflect natural and interior lighting. The materials that were used are massive wood with steel and glass components.

Organic forms and natural materials are also revealed in other parts of the interior, for instance spacious bathrooms with a bathtub.

Even though the apartment is in the center of Prague, the city cannot be seen from it. The interior folds within itself and forms a comfortable refuge from the world, to the north, it opens into an evergreen hill of Vitkov, a relaxation for the eyes. In spite of this, the apartment does not have the effect of darkness or crampness, thanks in particular to the many skylights.

From the above description, it is evident that the entire focus was on each and every detail in such a way to create a complete and perfect package within the complex.
